How we work – Humankind

How we work

Our vision is for people of all ages to be safe, building ambitions for the future and reaching towards their full potential.

We know that everyone is different and has different things they want and need from us. Our focus is on you. We want to support you to reach your goals and make the changes that you want to make. That journey is different for everyone, but we will help you every step of the way.

The first step is to get in touch with us. Give us a call and we’ll talk to you about how we can help. We can then book in a time to have a chat about where you are now and where you want to be.

You are welcome to get in touch if you are worried about your friends or family, and we will do our best to help or to put you in touch with other people who can help.

What will happen if you get in touch?

We’ll talk about your drug or alcohol use, your mental health, your social support and other aspects of your life like your housing situation, to get a full picture of how you are. The staff member will talk to you about what help you think you might need and what plans you want to make for the future. We won’t ask you to do anything you aren’t ready to do.

Our first meeting normally lasts around an hour, and in that time, we will start to think through a plan to help you make the changes you want to see. We’ll then agree next steps

Our services are friendly and safe spaces, with a mixture of people who can help; including volunteers, people with their own lived experiences, and other professionals.

Our services are free and confidential.

Last year we helped over 85,000 people across England to make positive changes in their lives. Get in touch with us and see how we can help you make those first steps.
